Tom received his B.A. in Biology, Society, and Environment and his certificate in Applied Biostatistics at the University of Minnesota. In 2014 he began his research internship at the lab of Dr. Michael Sadowsky at the University of Minnesota’s BioTechnology Institute, focusing on Clostridium difficile sporulation in carpeting. In 2015 he began working with Dr. Staley, learning computational biology for analysis of microbiomes in both environmental and medical studies. In 2018, he joined Dr. Staley’s lab as the Lab Manager, helping to maintain lab protocols, develop studies, and carry out microbiome analysis for Staley lab. Tom will start Medical School at the University of Minnesota in Fall 2019.
