Graduate Students
Our lab is affiliated with the following departments/graduate programs at UMN:

- BioTechnology Institute
- Bioinformatics and Computational Biology (BICB) graduate program
- Microbiology, Immunology and Cancer Biology (MICaB) graduate program
Prospective graduate students are always welcome and should apply through the programs listed above.
Undergraduate Students
Undergraduate students at UMN are always welcome! Interested students should send a resume and statement of interest to Dr. Staley [cmstaley@umn.edu]. Students should plan to spend a minimum of two semesters doing research in the Staley lab.
Collaborators
We are always happy to help investigators at UMN initiate or continue microbiome research, either serving as a core service provider or in collaboration. Investigators interested in microbiome research should contact Chris [cmstaley@umn.edu]. No experience necessary!
Clinical Microbiome Working Group
Interested PIs, residents, post-docs, and graduate students are welcome to attend our Clinical Microbiome Working group. We meet biweekly on Fridays in room 11-207 Moos Tower from 3:30pm - 4:30pm to discuss new and on-going research projects. If you're interested in presenting your idea for a proposal, protocol, or paper, please email Chris [cmstaley@umn.edu] for available dates. Sequence Processing Office Hours
Individuals looking for assistance in sequence data processing and analysis are invited to attend weekly office hours on Wednesdays from 1-3pm in the Discovery Room on the 11th floor of Moos Tower. If you are interested in attending, please email Chris [cmstaley@umn.edu]. Not available the first Wed of the month due to supercomputer maintenance.
